Pros: Super lightweight, wicking and great for high energy activities.
Cons: None that I can think of.
Best Uses: On it’s own on warm days or as a next-to-skin layer with more on top.
The Phase SL is a superlight, silkweight top from Arc’teryx with amazing rapid drying properties – it basically wicks the moisture from your skin so you don’t get irritated or wet skin.
It’s perfect for my 52 peaks as its only 280g and fits like a dream. It’s also got UPF25 UV protection, so great for the piercing New Zealand sunshine and has flatlock seams.
I’ve worn these (a little repetitively) on about 20 of my completed 52 peaks so fat (out of 33) and I can’t recommend it more.
It’s a simple top, no frills, just plain amazing moisture management and fit – and to be honest, that’s all you need in a next-to-skin layer… to forget about it any worry about the mountains!
